With your support, the Mattoon Area Family YMCA and Neal Center YMCA have come a long way in recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year. In 2021, we served 5,733 members. Nearly 900 of those were seniors and more than 200 were youth.

Thanks to your donations, the funds raised at the 2021 May Merriment provided more than $309,000 in assistance to nearly 700 members. These funds were used to help youth develop confidence and leadership skills through sports and to save lives through swim lessons. They brought opportunities for healthy living through group fitness and promoted social responsibility and friendship through our wellness challenges.

Throughout 2021 we continued to see lives changed through the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, which served 41 participants across five cohorts. This month, we announced the launch of the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, which will help our members and participants take control of their high blood pressure and learn to live healthier lives.

This year, we are more excited than ever to be back in person with May Merriment. The evening begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 with dinner and a silent auction at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA. Attendees also enjoy a premier auction event and live entertainment. The funds we raise at May Merriment are put directly back into our Y to allow us to continue providing vital services in the communities we serve.

The world didn't stop because of the pandemic- and neither did the Y. We humbly ask you to consider making a financial donation, or a donation of an item for our auction so that we can look towards a bright future for our Y and our community. Gifts must be received by Thursday, April 14, 2022 in order to guarantee inclusion in our event materials.
